| Standards-based Education Resources | The Standards-based Classroom Operator’s Manual is a set of tools designed to answer the questions, "What does it look like in my planning and in my classroom?” and “How do we get there?” when designing SBE teaching and learning experiences. The tools help teachers move from theoretical understanding to actual implementation of standards in a classroom. A “drive train” metaphor depicts a sequence of eight steps for a standards-based process of design, delivery, and evaluation of instruction. The manual includes copy-ready graphic organizers and templates, facilitator’s notes and timelines, and samples from elementary, middle, and high school levels. spiral bound, 149 pages $45.00 | Standards-based Classroom Operator's Manual, 2002 edition |
| Standards-Based Classroom Self-Inventory | This document is organized around four major characteristics of a standard-based classroom: Content Standards, Instruction, Assessment, and Student Learning. These characteristics are described in three points along a continuum from a classroom which is not standards-based, to a classroom which is in transition, to a classroom which is standards-based. Information can be used to profile individual or group progress toward a standards-based system, or to help provide a "picture" for SBE implementation at the classroom level. | Standards-Based Classroom Self-Inventory Manual |
| Roles & Responsbilities Within a Standards-Based System | Everyone plays a role in a successful standards-based education (SBE) system. This tool describes the roles and responsibilities essential for supporting an SBE system for a variety of role groups. The tool can be used with school and community groups for dialogue or discussion purposes. It can also be used by individuals for self-assessment and goal setting. | Roles & Responsibilities Within a Standards-Based System Manual |
