The Pathfinder Project: Exploring the Power of One is an easy-to-implement program for classroom instruction that helps students reach higher levels of personal and academic success. The project demonstrates that when students are in the right environment, they are able to find their way to the ideas and knowledge that truly excites them. When students are inspired and their sense of possibility about themselves is tapped, they can break through the barriers, the fear, and the limits that prevent them from realizing their aspirations and potential.

Use science to improve teaching.   This idea has surfaced repeatedly in education literature since the passage of NCLB where the term “scientifically based research” appears more than 100 times.   :Yet despite all the attention that has been given to the idea of applying science in the classroom, principals and teachers often remain puzzled about how to do just that.   This month's newsletter provides practical suggestions fro reading and understanding scientifically based research and for applying the principles of scientific inquiry to both teaching and student learning.
