Application Process Step One: Complete an application form with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). Call 303.866.6628 or visit www.cde.state.co.us to request an application. Along with the application and any necessary fees, you must submit an official college transcript from each college you attended. Step Two: After evaluating your transcripts, CDE will send you a letter telling you what you are qualified to teach, what additional coursework you might need, and information about the PLACE or Praxis tests that you will have to pass. Step Three: Take and pass the PLACE or Praxis test for your CDE approved content area. Registration information on the assessment tests can be found on CDE's website (under Educator Licensing). Step Four: CDE will issue you a document called the Statement of Eligibility (SOE). Step Five: Once approved by CDE, you must complete the Cooperative Teacher Applicant Pool application at http://ctap.cboces.org and provide us with a copy of your SOE. Step Six: Now you are ready to apply to any participating school district for vacant positions in the approved level and subject area. Your teaching contract must be for a full time position. According to CDE, full time is defined as at least 51% of the school day. More than half of your contracted time must be in your approved subject area. Centennial BOCES does not guarantee that you will be hired by a school district. ATLP Participating Districts Step Seven: After securing a teaching position, but prior to the last working day of August, your hiring district must enroll you in Centennial BOCES Non-traditional Teacher Licensure Program. You will recieve a letter from Centennial BOCES notifying you of training dates and other pertinent information. Then your support team will be established and you will officially be on the roster for the Alternative Teacher Licensure Program. If you have not recieved contact from Centennial BOCES by August 26th, and believe you should be enrolled in the program, please call 303-772-4420 ext 209.
