Other State and Federal Programs - Parental Involvement

Introduction

CBOCES supports increased parental involvement through quarterly parent meetings, forming migrant parent advisory groups within each district, and offering training for parents of students in the Title I and Migrant programs. Efforts are made to identify and ensure that barriers to parental involvement are eliminated. To the extent feasible, CBOCES provides for advocacy and outreach activities for migratory students and their families, including informing the students and families and helping them to access other education, health, nutrition and social services. Parents with special needs and circumstances are offered supports to enable them to have greater access to the CBOCES schools and to activities.
