Other State and Federal Programs - Title I

Title I, Part A-Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged

Title I is the largest federally funded program designated to provide services to elementary and secondary students. The legislation authorizes services supplemental to those provided by the regular school program. The majority of Title I participants receive instruction in language arts; however, there is strong emphasis on mathematics and reading. Annually, schools are evaluated on the progress their students are making toward the Colorado Content Standards in reading and mathematics through the AYP Process (Adequate Yearly Progress)
